P3165 BMW Fault Code

Description:

The input turbine speed sensor detects rotation of the input shaft of the input shaft speed sensor transmission. The computer uses that information, along with the output shaft speed sensor to determine if the transmission is operating according to plan. If the computer detects a difference between the input shaft speed , and the expected output shaft speed, it will adjust transmission pump pressure to prevent clutch disc slip. If adding pressure doesn't solve the problem, it will set a trouble code.

P3165 Code Symptoms :

The scent may P3165 signal oil or coolant leaking from their normally closed-loop systems, or it may indicate dangerous exhaust gases invading your car's interior. Diagnosis And Repairing P3165

P3165 the main thing to check is to verify the operation of the VCT solenoid. You're looking for a sticking or stuck VCt solenoid valve caused by contamination. Refer to vehicle specific repair manual to perform component tests for the VCT unit.

How to fix P3165 code ?

• Damaged VCT phaser
• Faulty Air fuel ratio (A/F) Sensor 1 Bank 1
• Camshaft advance mechanism binding (VCT unit)
• Fuel Injectors circuit poor electrical connection
